Intersection Improvements for 1000 West and Main Street

Construction on this project will begin April 15.

Currently, at the south leg of the signalized intersection of Iowa String/1000 West and Main Street, northbound traffic on Iowa String/1000 West shares a thru-lane with a right-turn lane.  At this same intersection, the eastbound traffic on Main Street shares a thru-lane with a right-turn lane.  Tremonton City has identified a need for a dedicated right turn lane, unshared with thru traffic, for both northbound traffic and eastbound traffic to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality by reducing the idling time of vehicles queued behind other vehicles.  The project improvements will also include curb, gutter, and sidewalk along the frontages where right turn lanes will be created.

Tremonton City was able to obtain Congestion Mitigation Air Quality funds for the construction of the project which will pay for 93.23 percent of the project with Tremonton City paying for the 6.77% of the total budget.  This project construction will commence in the spring of the 2019 and will be completed before October 15th of 2019.
