Instructional Baseball

Tremonton Recreations instructional leagues focus on what is most important for our smallest athletes. With many programs focusing solely on winning, Tremonton Recreation focuses on teaching FUNdamentals of playing with others, having fun with a new sport, coordination, balance, hand eye coordination, confidence and just playing like a kid.

Anticipated Outcome: At the end of this program your child will increase his or her understanding of the game of baseball; increase confidence in playing ability; learn the importance of being a team player; and learn sportsmanship which will leave your child more willing to participate and play in the next session.

FUNdamental Baseball:

Fun activities will be provided to introduce teamwork, playing well with others, and listening to instructions. Very little emphasis on skills and game play. There will be no organized head-to-head competition.

Pitching Machine:

Our pitching machine league is the perfect next step advancement in Baseball. We use the famous “Zooka” pitching machine that kids love to hit off of. By controlling the pitches with a pitching machine, there is more action at the plate and in the field.  Fear of being hit by a pitched ball is diminished.  It makes the game safer and improves the playing confidence and ability of all participants.

Jr. Bee’s Softball

The Jr. Bee’s program is associated with the Salt Lake Bee’s Professional Baseball Team. By this association we are able to add additional benefits that most programs can’t offer at no additional cost. Tremonton Recreation offers softball leagues for our youngest players, helping build the confidence and foundation needed to move to the next level.

Anticipated Outcome: At the end of this program your child will increase his or her understanding of the game of baseball; increase confidence in playing ability; learn the importance of being a team player; and learn sportsmanship which will leave your child more willing to participate and play in the next session.

Developmental Softball

These leagues are designed to refine the basic sports skills. Score is kept but standings are not. We play with unique rules modified to allow equal playing time for all participants and allow all an opportunity to develop skills. Teams are formed by location to coaches. A Softball Pitching Machine is used at the beginning of the season to give pitchers time to develop.
